In October 2017, CodeScience and Lighter Capital commissioned the first survey of its kind, to dig deeper into the environment that current and future Salesforce AppExchange Partners face in order to get a better, more objective look at how they are using the platform to drive business. The State of AppExchange Partners Report is the best collection of data on partner strategies, learnings and performance we’ve found anywhere.
Here’s an excerpt from our executive summary, adding context and explaining our goals:
Identifying Revenue Opportunity in a Rapidly Expanding Ecosystem
From a broader industry perspective, the numbers certainly speak for themselves – there is no slowing the growth and adoption within the Salesforce ecosystem. It’s a jungle in here, ripe with opportunities. The question is, how to navigate it successfully?
The success and scale of the AppExchange as a channel is a testament to the power of the ecosystem as a business differentiator. For example, Neeracha Taychakhoonavudh (Salesforce’s SVP, Partner & Industry Innovation) is quoted as claiming that Salesforce will boost AppExchange revenues 5X over the next 5 years.
In a report released by IDC in October 2017, the firm estimates that between 2016 and 2022, the Salesforce economy’s largest impacts on industries will be in finance, with the forecast creation of $164 billion in new business revenue and 585,000 new jobs, and manufacturing, with $159 billion in new business revenue and 638,000 in new jobs.
We don’t want to spoil the big reveal of our report, but what we can tell you is that this report unearths insights that showcase the real drivers of revenue in the rapidly exploding Salesforce ecosystem.
We get answers to questions such as:
Why are more companies choosing to develop for the AppExchange?
What are the top three reasons leading executives to prioritize the Salesforce ecosystem to fuel growth?
How are companies leveraging the Salesforce channel to drive leads?
And, what are some common challenges AppExchange Partners face today?
Watch this space for a link to download the Report on Tuesday, November 7 in conjunction with our participation at Dreamforce ’17. We’ll be taking meetings to review our findings and help partners, whether they are new to the AppExchange or have a live product, maximize revenue opportunity and app adoption. You can book time to meet with us here, or check out our DF17 sessions and events at this link. See you there!
