CodeScientist and Salesforce MVP Amber Boaz shares the top 8 things she wants to do at Dreamforce ’16.

This will be my 8th (!!) Dreamforce, and each year it gets bigger and bigger. With the embiggening, it can be super overwhelming to try to navigate all of the awesome opportunities to learn and grow.

In an homage to my 8 year stretch, here are 8 things I’ll be sure to do at Dreamforce ‘16.

  1. Attend sessions. There’s so much to learn. So much to see. It can be overwhelming! If, however, you use the industry, category, theme, and role filters to find the content that best fits your desired learning experience – creating your schedule can be a breeze.
  2. Roam the ExpoGo see all of the amazing AppExchange partners who would love to tell you about their apps and maybe even hook you up with some swag. If you’re strategic, you can get enough t-shirts to wear a different one every day for a month!
  3. Go to True To The Core (TTTC). This interactive session is a fantastic way to hear directly from executives and product owners about vision and plans. It’s also a great place to air your grievances…if you can get to the mic!
  4. Participate in the hands on-volunteering event. In years past you could package meals for the hungry, make bags for homeless kids, or putting your donated books in a cool house. There are tons of opportunities this year. Here’s a list of the theme days and some of the larger organizations that will be attending.
  5. Women’s Network and WiT Dreamforce Event is in its 5th year! On Monday evening you can join women (and men!!) to hear from panels of trailblazers, engage in table discussions and network with other attendees. Drinks and appetizers are provided, but you must RSVP.
  6. Automation Station. Need to hone your business analysis skills? Want to learn more about process mapping, automation tools, and use cases? Hang out in the Automation Station (in the Admin Meadow) to learn process automation best practices from the community. Hint: If you come by on Wednesday between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm you can heckle me! :-)
  7. Networking. There will be tens of thousands of partners, customers, and employees all over the place! Introduce yourself. Make a new friend. Exchange business cards. You never know what could come from meeting new folks.
  8. Take a break. Exhausted from all of the awesome? Sit on the lawn and take in the glory of Dreamforce. While it’s normally a very busy thoroughfare, Howard Street is blocked off for a, well, block party! Bean bag chairs, screens for viewing keynotes, fake grass, and yes, sunshine! San Fran weather isn’t always sunny, but when it is, oh boy! Get out in it and enjoy. The lawn is a great place for people watching.
