How Geneia is Meeting the Challenges of COVID-19
A couple of weeks ago, we had the chance to work with a long-time client, Geneia, to help build a free-trial version of their Theon® Platform that has been streamlined to help Healthcare providers quickly assess and triage patients who are seeking COVID-19 information, resources, and care.
Those in healthcare are all feeling the strain that COVID-19 is placing on their infrastructure globally. As reported by the Primary Care Collaborative:
“Nearly three-quarters of respondents report patients’ inability to use telehealth as a stress on their practice. 72% of surveyed clinicians say that they have patients who are unable to access telehealth due to no computer/internet.”
This means increased call volumes to reduced staff and longer wait times, resulting in frustrated and confused patients as well as additional stress placed on healthcare staff.
With Salesforce’s release of the 6-month free trial of Health Cloud, Geneia stepped in to provide those new healthcare organizations a solution to quickly start-up and rapidly deploy a solution to meet some providers’ most pressing needs:
Triaging patients calling in for COVID-19 information
Effective routing to resources, assessments, or testing centers
Standardized call transcripts to ensure all required information is captured on patient records
By providing a standardized structure around calls, practices can ensure that the information they need is always collected, and those answering and responding to calls can move more effectively by working through the transcripts.
The Theon® Care Management of COVID-19 Patients app includes personas, workflows, and dashboards to help providers get started quickly by providing some foundational pieces that can slow some organizations down as they start leveraging Health Cloud.
Through configuring the dashboards, healthcare organizations can track:
Patient cases reported by state and county
Age distribution of calls related to COVID-19
New cases of COVID-19 over the age of 60
